Explore the following opportunities:
January is the time we emphasize Sanctity of Human Life Sunday. We support First Choice Women’s Resource Centers by taking home empty baby bottles and filling them with offerings that go to support each of the centers.
Free Lunch In the Park is a quarterly serving opportunity at Tompkins Square Park on the lower east side of Manhattan. On three of those occasions, we bring in about 200 bag lunches. On the Saturday before Thanksgiving, we provide a full hot turkey dinner. It’s great fun!
About every other year, we offer the opportunity for our congregation to serve overseas on a short-term mission trip. God has opened doors for us to serve in Kenya, India, Ecuador and Kazakhstan.
Each year, we prepare shoeboxes loaded with toys and necessities for children in need, living in third-world countries. The packages are sent via an organization called Samaritan’s Purse. We often prepare these during Vacation Bible School and invite others to pack boxes in the fall.
We are centrally located to the Lyons Veterans Administration. We minister to our Vets with van transportation to Grow Groups and worship on Sundays. We also host a Labor Day barbecue, collect brand new coats in the Fall, and serve a special Christmas breakfast in December.
